Trail Ready. Regearing your 2007-2018 GMC Sierra is necessary if you want to run an oversize tire and maintain good off-road performance. Oversized tires will add several hundred pounds of additional mass for the engine to turn, and while capable, will need heavier throttle inputs with the factory gearing. Yukon Gear ring and pinion with a 4.56 ratio will restore power, improve acceleration and increase throttle sensitivity that is otherwise abosrbed when upgrading tires but leaving the stock gear. Automatic GM Sierras will find that a 4.56 gear offers stout off-road capability up to a 37″ tire before peformance drops off.
Triple Alloy Steel. Yukon Gear manufactureres this ring and pinion out of 8620 triple alloy steel, which is a chromium, molybdenum, and nickel blend. The three alloys combined and heat treated creates a super hard metal alloy that is perfectly suited to the harsh life of a ring and pinion.
Shop Install Advised. A ring and pinion must be installed to very specific measurements and tolerances. Failure to do so will cause premature failure of the ring and pinion and potentially other components involving the differential as well. For this reason it is recommended to have this set of Yukon Gears installed by a professional.
Application. This Yukon Gear 4.56 Ring and Pinion Gear Set is specifically designed for all 2007-2018 GMC Sierras equipped with an 8.5″ or 8.6″ rear differential.
