Re-gearing your 2007-2018 GMC Sierra is intended to improve its off-road wheeling ability and restore any lost power and acceleration that invariably comes with running an oversized tire. A lower gear (higher numerical value) will increase engine RPM for any given wheel speed, thereby making available extra torque at low speed which is needed to crawl over large obstacles. A 4.88:1 ratio Yukon Gear Rear Ring and Pinion is an ideal setup for intermediate to advanced level off-roading. They provide excellent get-up-and-go and readily handle tire sizes up to 40″.
8620 Steel. Yukon Gear Ring and Pinions are made from an ultra-strong blend of chromium, molbydenum and nickel. This triple alloy is heat treated for extra durability and features helical cut teeth that provide smooth engagement and noise free operation.
Professional Installation Required. Properly seating and aligning a rear ring and pinion requires very precise measurements with no room for error. For this reason, it is recommended to have a drivetrain specialist complete the job.
Application. This Yukon Gear 4.88 Ring and Pinion Gear Set is specifically designed for all 2007-2018 GMC Sierras equipped with an 8.5″ or 8.6″ rear differential.
