Excellent Rock Crawling Performance. From the factory, Sierra pickup trucks and come equipped with a gear ranging from 3.08 to 4.11 depending on the transmission and trim package. When towing heavy, running large tires or engaged in hardcore crawling, where lot’s of low end torque is needed, the factory gearing options are too high to provide the necessary power and throttle control. A 5.13:1 rear ring and pinion from Yukon Gear is optimal for 2007-2018 GMC Sierra owners with a 35″-40″ tire intending to participate in serious wheeling and rock crawling. Daily driving is somewhat affected with such a low gear and can result in a marginal increase in fuel consumption and engine noise.

Professional Installation Required. Properly seating and aligning a rear ring and pinion requires very precise measurements with no room for error. For this reason, it is recommended to have a drivetrain specialist complete the job.
